Solar Company In Illinois

Solar Overview Illinois

Illinois is a leader in the deployment of renewable energy resources and a champion of residential solar. Adding solar resources to your home has often proven to be a wise investment for Illinois residents as Illinois offers some of the best incentives to go solar nationwide.

Illinois Net-Metering Policy

Commonwealth Edison, Ameren Illinois Utilities, and MidAmerican Energy Company, offer net-metering programs that provide energy credits to customers who generate more electricity with their solar systems than they use. As part of your installation process, Caliber will help you apply to participate in the net metering program and ensure you have all the equipment you need to reap this benefit.

Illinois Shines

The Illinois Shines program helps offset the cost of your new solar panels by providing payments to a local utility for 15 years’ worth of Renewable Energy Credits (RECs). That utility then buys those RECs back from your approved Illinois Shines vendor resulting in a reduced cost of the solar system for you.

Special Assessment for Solar Energy Systems

Installing solar panels increases your property value. You’d ordinarily be taxed on this increase, but Illinois waives the increased property tax on your state return. To qualify, you must file the State of Illinois PTAX-330 property tax form with your local county assessor.

Federal Solar Tax Credit

All Illinois homeowners qualify for the federal solar investment tax credit or ITC. Those who install their home solar systems by Dec. 31, 2032, are eligible for a tax deduction equal to 30% of the purchase price.
